Walking around on the street

3. November Rain- Guns and Roses
Slash playing the lead in front of the church

4. Free as a bird - Beatles
As psychedelic as they are

5. you're beautiful - David Blunt
Takes off all his clothes, stuff from the pocket and finally jumps in lake/sea from a very high point.

6. Feel Good Inc. - Gorillaz
Kind of dark... but loved the mix of 2d and 3d animation.

7. Rock DJ - Robbie Williams
Mr entertainer at his crazy best.

A few dos and do nots at work which i found somewhere... interesting-
- do not get emotional when dealing with colleagues. you will be quoted. be passionate about the work at hand. do not display the passion.
- in a crisis, do not take names in a hurry to bail oneself out, this shows immaturity. ask for time to reply and get back to the situation. chaff out the problem, and focus on the problems. where one is at fault, own up to it. this is good example setting that you will not spare yourself for errors.
- return compliments sincerely. do not delay thank you notes. where success was achieved in collaboration, acknowledge it.
- talk less where not needed. work on the vocabulary to get the message across in lesser time/in lesser words. use simpler words. do not show off intelligence where not needed.
- do not delay responding to a mail by more than an hour.
- do not take someone's word for another's character/behaviour and act upon it. difference in interaction is due to the difference in people and situations. be clinical in approach and focus on the job.
- do not react/reply differently on the basis of the designation. give regard where needed. retract undue reverance.
- do not allow someone to aggravate you. it is done with a purpose. aggravate him by replying with a cool head.
- when too many people are looking at you, say something to the point and useful.
- during a presentation, watching a ppt and hearing someone repeat the same thing can be very boring. look at everyone. demonstrate willingly to make yourself approachable. speak slowly and use examples so the content sets in.
- to let someone know that he is wrong, create an imaginary 3rd person doing the same wrong stuff to get the point across. this is very effective.

...play on.

mtv india sucks. all they play is the regular crap that all other channels do. So what's their usp now? whatever it was, they've lost it to vh1, which rocks.
i'm hearing too much about the coldplay album. i think i'll give some business to the music shop across the road.

karry in the kitchen

"it's all about the process, man... enjoy the process!"
Sahaya Jeevan
----------------------------
moong dal1 cup moong dal
4 cups water
1/2 onion
1 tamato
1 clove garlic
little haldi
little salt
now put this concoction in a pressure cooker and let 'em heat on full for 15 minutes. turn the gas off and let it cook in the afterheat. when it's time to open it up, heat 1 table spoon of ghee and toss in a lil bit of jeera and coriander. Let it free for 30 odd seconds and pour this into the pressure cooker and mix the baby real nice.
----------------------------
beans
fry onions and mustard seeds with some haldi. take 30-40 green beans and chop em to like 3/4 inch pieces. add to the pan and mix. cover for a while, stir then turn it off. let it cook in the afterheat.
----------------------------
patatoes
boil 4-5 patatoes. when done, mash em with salt using a fork so it gets real fine.
in a frying pan, put 2 teaspoons of ghee, chop onions in rings (with salt so it becomes sweet), toss in some jeera, haldi, coriander and mustard seeds. when nice and brown, add the mashed patatoes. keep stirring, then turn off.
----------------------------
curd
best way to set curd is take a lil bit from what was left in that mother dairy plastic cup and add the milk and mix it really nice so the curd spreads evenly all over the milk... basically letting the bacteria work in evenly. let it out overnight and put it in the fridge in the morning. you wont believe how evenly the curd sets.

flicks

saw 'd'. Trust rgv to pick an endearing, unkempt nobody to light up on screen and play a budding gangster. Kinda liked it. Loved the scene where he emerges from the dark, unarmed, lights up a cigi amidst seething mobsters aching to fill him with lead, keeps his cool and begins to negotiate. The problem is that the movie has no variation- bugger wins right till the end; unlike 'company' which had so many ups and downs in the protagonist's life.
also loved the scene where he's talking to this girl and so sweetly says- "koi log doctor hai, koi engineer hai... main gangster hai."

also saw the trailor of 'parineeta'. it looked like a movie that seeked the emancipation of a woman in a soffocating marriage, exemplifying the turmoil she faces and implores an audience to watch it with a certain degree of sensitivity and empathy. If I'm right, I don't want to see it.

Wordpress it is!

I have moved to Wordpress. After much introspection and discussion on what Blogger and Wordpress are capable of, I figured a one-stop shop...
