Empty fridge

Here's what bothers me. A third of the world's poverty is in this country and we rank infamously high on the global corruption list. This pisses me off. What ticks me off even more is that I cannot do much sitting around here- like an armchair warrior blabbering away or a straitjacketed patient with anti-establishment issues. Giving money to these relief funds may or may not solve anything- we know where a good chunk of that money goes (actually we don't). So here goes an internal imploding revolution.
I refuse to indulge in frivolous vagaries I don't need. How much property do we need? Or how big does my car really have to be? I decline unnecessary whims. I choose to declutter because today I am in a position to and I refuse to be a bastard on resources. I refuse to get fat and consume more than I need. I am in the midst of a people who are still scrambling for shelter and food. I am a ten year old beside Kosi and can see an army chopper over my head dropping food for me to snatch and steal. I am not proud today. I may not be able to do much about this but here's what I can and will. I refuse to consume more than I really need. I will not stuff my stupid fridge. I never did anyways. I am not a demon and will not turn into one. I am a hermit and I will walk alone on this if need be because I am sick and tired of eating away like slobbering para-f * * * ing-site into resources just because I can afford to. I hate this shit. Faaaaaaaa...

Khali estate, Binsar

Four do-nothing days at Khali estate in Binsar is all we asked for. And it was bliss at its best. The three of us were the only ones at the resort, and off-season travelling is surely my forte now. All our past trips into the hills have been through the rain and clouds! With Anand Hirvey and Ani Gupta, I eat sleep and talk movies all day amidst pure mountain air, and food and tea served at regular intervals. Ani introduced me to a movie, now my all-time favorite, aptly titled- Waking Life.
We took the night train to Kathgodam and reach there early on Sunday morning, packed ourselves into an Alto and took off for Khali estate. Landslides had taken the road in places and we were left wondering if we would get up there at all. Of course we reached up there! A very hospitable staff and just one other group there made the stay very enjoyable- not that we did anything there. Eat sleep laze around and draw a bit. The morning cleared up just once and we got to see the Himalayan range- a rare sighting in this weather. Nuf said- pics now!

Sri Lanka

4 glorious days in Ceylon/ Sri Lanka/ paradise! Don't forget to bring back the masks. They cost the same as what you could pick up from the duty free shop- but really, masks first. Nuf sed, now pics. Starting with the landscape- its no different from that of Kerala!

At the Galle Lighthouse, best stairway I have seen yet-

Precious stones. From mining, cleaning, sorting, polishing to showroom- all within an area of a few square meters-

Bintota residents

Galle fort. Thats the cricket stadium in the centre where the recent match was played.
Do go to Sri Lanka. It's rediculously clean. We need to learn some from them.

Wordpress it is!

I have moved to Wordpress. After much introspection and discussion on what Blogger and Wordpress are capable of, I figured a one-stop shop...
