Comic Con India 2014

Comic Con gets bigger and better every year. This year, it had to be moved to Tyagaraj Stadium, behind INA market. The swelling attendance hit the traffic on the street outside and the crowd became almost unmanageable in some places. Though I went on day 3, I managed to catch a fraction of the excitement. People dressed up as Arvind Kejriwal, Captain Jack Sparrow,  and ofcourse the hot favorite- The Joker. The cutest Iron Man ever was there too. The range of books, guest speakers and overall excitement is worth the time spent. Spotted some pretty rare stuff here which are normally not available in books stores like Manga comics, a lot of imported books, Mad commemorative issues sold like they'd disappear off the face of the earth, cartoon guides to chemistry, physics, genetics and statistics... interesting stuff! And ofcourse, that careless sense of money flying out of your wallet on stuff like spiderman flip flops, Judge Dredd comics you may never read, Wacom equipment. Aarrgh!

It was so good to see Pran being celebrated- the man who gave us Chacha Chowdhary.

Dragon girl

So here is this imaginary cover art, for a story unreal, for a segment of readers that does not exist.
Ever been in a moment when an idea arrives like a butterfly and you do not really know what that was about, but had to be created and given some visual form? A pointless scribble becomes cover art in the same day before the clock strikes 12 midnight and you are already on a ride with claws and pterodactyl wings, but a heart of marshmallow...

Parikrama turns 22

Indian rock band Parikrama turns 22 this year. Way back in the early 90s, in a time when careers were narrowed down to 2-3 'practical' options,  these guys held fort on what they passionately felt about. Kudos!

Since my office is across the road from Striker, Gurgaon, I managed to hop across to watch these guys in action. They still have the zing to get the younger lot off their seats. Way to go for another 22 years!

Wordpress it is!

I have moved to Wordpress. After much introspection and discussion on what Blogger and Wordpress are capable of, I figured a one-stop shop...
