I dont know what i want, but i know i'm not happy with what i have

Hazarding Poetry IX - an ode to advertising

a new life rolls in
ads, brands, power to buy
it's no sin
to lie
about your favorite range
coz everyone knows it will change
like that channel you just flicked
or dust you just kicked

that bugger in the next cubicle just picked
the lastest version of what he had last
and looks at yours, aghast
'you still hanging onto that blast from the past?'
ho boy, things change fast

ads redicule common sense
so you buy their junk and hence
fit in with the hip and cool
so all can drool
at you and and hang onto every sentence

make me look good, feel good
I got the dosh, is that understood?
so do your job, ad man
cook up more dead pan
hey babe, hey dude, it aint rude
people forget like something they chewed
so sell that trash, you can
its getting endorsed by a star, these days he's in,
I cant tell if its a woman or a man
doesnt matter, he'll be out be jan
