checked out crusade in jeans, sweeney todd, 10000 BC. All missable. I couldn't recommend Sweeney unless you're ok with cannibalism! The end can turn your stomach a bit, and I thought I was tough. But if you have to, really really have to catch a creepy dark and slimy Tim Burton flick (sleepy hollow/ edward scissorhands/ charlie and the chocolate factory), then go for it.

10000 bc is ok if you are really into 3d graphics and period flicks and how 3 teaspoons of imagination can cook up a world like that with mammoths helping out in the construction of the pyramids.

budget time and mumbai

another budget trip to Mumbai and it only gets better every year. The chaos, my office on marine drive and my desk facing the best view of the city just makes it all one long party at work. the only time out i got with my colleagues was the 10 minutes we spent on the drive at 2 am. then it was back to shalimar, our hotel near kemps corner.
the budget speech was a riot- they disrupt things like they're in their local residential meeting hall or something. there's this huge contrast between delhi and mumbai- one city has good infrastructure but lacks professionalism and vice versa with the other. mumbai's professionalism rocks- from my colleagues, cabbies, shop keepers- to the hilt.
airports are looking like bus stops now. Indian airlines at 6 am to anywhere is the best way to fly.

Checked out Jumper and Enchanted- both good. Jumper was like watching a personal fantasy. But then, I don't quite agree with getting there instantly. travelling is all about the journey. Once you reach the destination, it's downhill from there. Enchanted is a good family flick. Take your kids along!

Caught a few more flicks- Mithya, PS I love you, Jodhaa Akbar and Reservation Road. Something is seriously wrong with the way the movies are getting reviewed in the papers. Jodhaa Akbar has Hrithik reaching a new level altogether and Ash looking as ethereal as ever. PS I love you was a good flick and has a very good ending. The reviewers have to be disgruntled for some reason to rate these movies so poorly. I'd give them my piece of mind had their been some sort of a 'click here to respond to this review' button on the newspaper. I guess that's a little way ahead in the future. Whatever... I'm glad I saw these movies coz I know better now. Couldn't see Rama Rama kya hai drama because the show got cancelled.
"Kyon bhai why did it get cancelled?"
"Sir, nobody comes for it."
It had to be a really bad one, I figure. Aargh- missed it.

Other random thoughts- was looking at a Honda logo in the traffic. If you move the letters around a bit, you get 'Dhano'... chal Dhano aaj meri ijjat ka suwal hai...
