Android sketchability

Can't ignore Android devices spewing out from the sewers these days. I tend to instantly download Sketchbook Pro or use the scribble software to see the screen response to drawing strokes. Have to tip my hat to iPhone here. The screen on Apple devices is far from sensitive than the Samsung screens. Anyway here are some random scribbles done on a Samsung Galaxy Grand.

Resolve, reconcile, ride.

Its one of those midnight sketches that make you go on and on till you fall asleep. This just had to be done. The ball pen with which this was done cost Rs. 5; so much for spending Rs.20,000 on a Wacom tablet!

Reclamation storyboard... funny how the mind works

Resolving to doodle every day is one thing, actually settling down to do something substantial is another. Anyway, some time was spared for storyboarding, that stage of movie or comic-book making where things start to have some semblance to the finished piece. What's funny is that the final frame occurred to me first, and I worked backward to the first frame!
Do movie ideas come from one visual? A flash of imagery from where people work around, get inspired to make a story out of?

Apoorv and I spent the weekend on collaborative art. We started on opposite sides of the paper on Friday night till we met in the centre on Saturday afternoon! No thinking here- we just let go.












Other random thoughts- Saw a scary movie called 'An inconvenient truth'. It's a documentary on global warming- worth a watch. Displaced weather shows up in Delhi with an unusually pleasant May with rain pouring down just when you wish for it!

Other random thoughts- Saw a scary movie called 'An inconvenient truth'. It's a documentary on global warming- worth a watch. Displaced weather shows up in Delhi with an unusually pleasant May with rain pouring down just when you wish for it!

Goshaini

Total Retreat, Total Surrender.

This is 30km after Aut, yes that beautiful winding road after Pandoh Dam. Instead of taking the left into the new tunnel towards Manali, we took the right. I'm through with Manali; which is now turning into one big slurry trash bin.

The roads are undergoing work on the Goshaini side. Cell connectivity weakens :), the valley gets greener :)), the air gets cleaner. Its all getting surreal when Raju Bharti's home appears on the right of the milestone that says 'Goshaini 0 km'.

We parked on the roadside- but to reach his place on the other side, you get into a single seater cable 'cart'. Karan and Varun, his sons and 3 resident dogs- Johnny, Yati and Phebe welcome us. All you hear is the river. This place has non of the conventional hotel facilities since it's mainly a private residence- making this the best drive-out in the hills, all-time, for me.

Now soak up the pics-

The dogs in the house followed us every where. I recall even the last time we were at a river, we had a mutt giving us company!
