Today, I decided to get the family's 1987 Maruti 800 fixed. The battery was down; no thanks to me forgetting to rev it up once in a while. I got a mechanic to jump start it and was advised to take it out for a 1 hr drive to charge up the battery. I took out the baby and in a short while, it was back in it's good ol' form; reminding me of just how reliable this machine is. This little ecstasy won't last long now because in 2007, some safety standards are going to come into action which the 800 will fail and that too miserably. I cruised at 45 kmph (which is also it's top speed) while singing 'Superman' by Five For Fighting and it dawned on me that I know the lyrics by heart. By heart, I tell you, by haaaaaa...

On interacting with Senior managers here on almost a daily basis now has shown me what sets them apart and why they're successful. It's the passion that runs high when they're giving you the brief for the job, their total dedication to their work as though that's the sole purpose of their existence. What's clearly scribbled between the lines is- If you want to be on the same boat as me, catch up. You'd better.

Getting Things Done : end notes

It's been 3 months since it started and has thankfully reached a finale I was afraid we wouldn't see. The basketball board for the kids finally got put up. I painted the board with 2 coats of enamel and red oxide on the metal support. The problem is, it's still wobbly when a ball hits it. I think next time, the board needn't be so big.

The dimensions of the smaller box inside is 45cm x 59cm.

-1 tin of white enamel

-1 tin of black enamel

-1 tin of red enamel

-1 litre turpentine

-2 brushes

-1 red oxide

-metal sandpaper

-cloth

-screwdriver for stirring the enamel

This should come handy sometime.
