A lone flower on a mountain edge.
An egg cracking to reveal a baby bird.
A feather floating aimlessly.
a deluge of water on parched land.
A mountain goat climbing in search of grass and suddenly surprised by the view of the topography.
Nemo swimming away from the school.
A little african boy wondering what's outside his tribe.
Staring at the horizon.
A refreshing breeze.
An open door.
Did I just think up an ad? For what?
time out needed to pack a slr and a sketchbook in a rucksack, sit astride a royal enfield and ride off to anywhere

shedding old skin
The birdie spent 7k on a wardrobe upgrade! Last cherry on the pie will be a Lamy Safari pen. So, that's another... whatever. Go on, baby, feel new!
Alright now, shiver those wings, straighten that neck a little, look straight and sharp and let's lean over that edge...

fly
the little bird looked around the cage that had been such a comfy nook for so long. Everyday, the neccessities would be stocked up and there would be nothing to complain about. There were others too in the cage, and they were all so well fed that they could hardly muster the strength or willingness to fly anymore.
One fine day, the cage was left unlocked. It wouldn't stay open for too long, that was for sure. This was an opportunity.
A fat birdie saw the little birdie starting at the opening.
"Why fly at all?", asked the fat birdie.
"Because we can."
"Aren't you happy here?"
"Yes, but we can FLY," lamented the li'l birdie, "At least I can."
"There are vultures and eagles out there," threatened fatso. "Are you sure?"
"Yes, I'll fly."
The opening was staring at the birdie. The little birdie starred back, contemplating the next move. True, there ARE vultures and eagles out there.

Real life.
Get ready for real life, kid. You've overstayed in paradise and the lamenting has gone too far. Really.
